One of the most common variations of the game is a version called stud. This variant requires the best five-card hand. Stud poker is most commonly played in Texas Hold ’em, although other variants such as Omaha, Omaha High Low and Seven-card stud are popular.

While the game of poker has been around for a while, it has enjoyed a surge in popularity in the late 1990s. Poker tournaments on television and the internet have made the game more accessible to the masses. As a result, poker has become a worldwide pastime.
